Amrita Rao, a Hindustani classical vocalist hailing from the captivating town of Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district, India, embarked on her extraordinary journey into the realm of music at the tender age of eight. Even in her childhood, her exceptional talent and unwavering passion for music shone brightly, nurtured under the caring and attentive guidance of Smt. Lalitha Hegde.

As Amrita’s musical journey unfolded, she sought the esteemed mentorship of the illustrious artist and Guru, Pandit Parameshwar Hegde. Under his meticulous tutelage, her vocal abilities were honed and refined to perfection. To this very day, she continues to seek and cherish his invaluable expertise, enriching her musical prowess.

In her unending quest for musical excellence, Amrita has expanded her horizons by seeking guidance and training from the renowned Bhendi Bazaar Gharana artiste, Smt. Anuradha Kuber. Embracing the opportunity to learn, Amrita eagerly immerses herself in the rich traditions and nuances of the Bhendi Bazaar Gharana, further enriching her musical repertoire. Under Smt. Anuradha Kuber’s mentorship, Amrita’s vocal prowess continues to flourish, allowing her to explore new dimensions and refine her artistry even further.

Pandit Parameshwar Hegde

Having trained in classical music under the initial guidance of great gurus and artistes of Indian classical music – Sri S M Bhat and Pandit Chandrashekhar Puranik Math, Pandit Parameshwar Hegde sought advanced level of training from Padma Bhushan Pandit Basavaraj Rajguru.DSC_0363
Pandit Hegde’s gayaki is a beautiful blend of Kirana, Gwalior and Patiala Gharana. This, coupled with Hegdeji’s soulful voice and mastery over the subtle intricacies, while maintaining the purity of Hindustani classical music, has earned him fame and accolades. Hegdeji is an A graded artiste of the All India Radio and has given concerts across country at popular music festivals. Hegdeji was awarded the prestigious Kannada State Award (Rajya Prashasti) in the year 2005.
Panditji runs Rajguru Smruti Trust, which aims to propagate Indian Classical music. A task master and a perfectionist, Hegdeji teaches music at Parameshwar Hegde Sangeet Academy and has a growing student following across the globe.

Vid. Anuradha Kuber

akVid Anuradha Kuber is a renowned vocalist of the Bhendi Bazar Gharana. She trained for 15 years under the veteran musician Pt. T.D Janorikar, a foremost exponent of the Gharana. While a proficient musician in her own right, she continues her education with musicologist Dr Arawind Thatte.

Anuradhaji is a recipient of the Surmani, Gaanhira and Gaan-Saraswati puraskar, 2021. A and A top graded artiste of All India Radio in classical music and light music. and Manik Varma award, among others, Anuradhaji’s musical talent has come to be known by a vast audience through her performances and recordings. She ensures the continuation of this time-honoured tradition by teaching the musicians of the next generation the beauty of Hindustani classical music.
